Code of Conduct

Engineering Leaders Community (ELC) is built on trust, openness, and real conversations between people who genuinely care about building better teams, products, and themselves. This Code of Conduct exists to protect that environment for everyone.

By joining our community or attending any ELC event, you agree to the following:

1. Be Human. Be Respectful.

We treat each other and our speakers with basic human decency.

  • Be polite, kind, and professional.

  • Discrimination, harassment, or belittling behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Different opinions are welcome. Personal attacks are not.

We want strong discussions, not toxic ones.

We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment based on gender, identity, orientation, race, age, disability, religion, or background.

If alcohol is present, we expect everyone to remain respectful and responsible. Being intoxicated is not an excuse for inappropriate behavior.

2. No Selling. No Pitching. No Hustling.

ELC is a no-sales, no-pitches community by default.

Our events are not a place for cold selling, lead harvesting, or recruitment pitches.

Marketing, sales, and recruiting professionals may only join if:

The topic is directly relevant to them, or

Their participation was explicitly approved by the ELC team.

You are welcome to network. You are not welcome to prospect.

3. Feedback Is Constructive. Not Destructive.

We believe in honest conversations, but always with respect.

  • Give feedback to help people grow, not to show dominance.

  • Criticism should be constructive, specific, and kind.

  • We leave ego at the door.

4. Events, Photos and Data

By registering for any ELC event, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Photos, videos, and recordings may be taken during the event and used for ELC promotional purposes.

  • Your registration data may be processed by third-party platforms and partners involved in event operations and delivery.

  • All data is handled in compliance with applicable privacy regulations.

Please be respectful when taking and sharing photos or recordings of others. Always ask for consent before publishing identifiable content of other attendees.

What is shared in the room stays in the room unless explicit permission is given to share it further.

If you have any questions related to data protection or your personal data, reach out to:

weare@engineeringleaders.io

5. If Something Feels Off, Tell Us.

If you experience or witness behavior that goes against this Code of Conduct, please report it.

You can always contact us directly at:

weare@engineeringleaders.io

We take every report seriously and handle situations with care and discretion.

6. Our Right to Protect the Community

We want ELC to stay a safe, sharp, and honest space.

  • We reserve the right to refuse access to events, remove participants, or exclude members who repeatedly or seriously violate this Code of Conduct.

  • These decisions are made to protect the community, not to punish.

This Code of Conduct applies to both in-person and online ELC spaces.

All decisions related to Code of Conduct enforcement are made by the ELC team and are final.

In Short

→ Be respectful.

→ Be honest.

→ Be constructive.

→ Do not sell.

→ Do not pitch.

→ Do not recruit.

→ Do not ruin the vibe.
